Financial services practitioners working in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will have the opportunity to boost their skills and professionalism with the latest collaboration between the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and the Baltic Financial Advisors Association (BFAA).

Educational charity and professional body the CISI has had a relationship with the BFAA since 2017 and during this time BFAA members have had the opportunity to study CISI learning materials in their local language.

BFAA already recognised the CISI’s International Introduction to Securities & Investment  and the International Certificate in Wealth & Investment Management  as equivalent to their Investment Information Provider and Investment Advisor license, but now also recognise  two higher-level CISI qualifications, the Certificate in Securities and the Investment Advice Diploma meaning that practitioners can move between jurisdictions without the need for additional qualifications.

The CISI will include the BFAA Investment Advisor and Investment Insurance Advisor qualifications on its list of qualifications eligible for Associate (ACSI) membership of the CISI. The CISI would welcome those who have passed the BFAA Investment Advisor and Investment Insurance Advisor examinations to become CISI Associate members.

Membership of the CISI includes access to its learning platform containing over 2,000 learning items, curated by subject or type, accessible 24/7 on the go via CISI’s app, allowing upskilling and continuing professional development. The learning platform includes live webinars on CISI TV, recorded content on CISI’s YouTube channel, podcasts and cutting-edge articles in CISI’s The Review magazine.

Helena Wilson, Chartered MCSI, CISI Assistant Director, Global Business Development said:  “We are excited about the opportunities this renewed partnership brings to the members of CISI and BFAA, facilitating free movement of the practitioners between the jurisdictions without the need for additional qualifications. We also look forward to extending a warm welcome to BFAA’s qualifying candidates as CISI Associate members.”

Diana Kvedere (left), Chief Executive Officer, Baltics Financial Advisors Association said: “Since 2017, partnership between BFAA and CISI has been an integral part in establishing high licensing standards within the Baltic market. We are delighted to sustain and expand our collaboration with CISI, offering our license holders the chance to enhance their skills and increase their competitiveness in the global market by attaining a CISI ACSI qualification. Furthermore, we believe, that our shared values will help us not only to continue this inspiring alliance, but also evolve it in joint future events and initiatives.”
