The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is delighted to announce that
Shih Yen Wan of Coutts & Co has been awarded the Hoare Nairne Scholarship.
The Scholarship, worth £2,500 towards study costs, is awarded by the CISI Educational Trust, supported by a donation from the Hoare Nairne family to cover the costs of the Scholarship for the foreseeable future.
The aim of the Scholarship is to help the successful candidate study towards CISI’s premier qualification, the Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification.
The Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification comprises three units: Financial Markets, Portfolio Construction Theory, and Applied Wealth Management, normally taken over 18 months, with sittings in June and December.
Scholarship candidates were asked to submit an essay on “Analyse the implications of Brexit upon a client’s assets”.
On receiving the Scholarship, Shih Yen said: “I was delighted to hear that I have won this prestigious award. The opportunity to study this advanced level qualification will enable me to develop my existing knowledge and gain a greater understanding of the products and services I deal with on a day to day basis so that I can provide a better service to clients. I very much look forward to studying for the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification.”
Simon Culhane, Chartered FCSI and CISI CEO said: “Congratulations to Shih Yen Wan on winning the Hoare Nairne Scholarship Award 2016. Shih presented an excellent essay which was well written, carefully argued and comprehensively sourced. We are delighted that Shih will be able to use the funds to pay for high quality personal tuition and we wish her every success with her studies”.
