Financial planning guru Keith Churchouse CFPCM Chartered FCSI director of Surrey-based Chapters Financial and founder of SaidSo.co.uk, is celebrating 30 years in UK retail financial services this month.
Keith has also just received an additional chartered qualification, along with a second Fellowship, from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). A fitting way to crown 30 years of work within his profession, which has seen significant change over the last three decades.
Back in December 1985 when Keith first embraced the financial world, interest rates were around 11%, the FTSE 100 Index stood at approximately 1,375 points, Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister, and Shakin’ Stevens was heading for number one with Merry Christmas Everyone.
Keith Churchouse, director, Chapters Financial, says:
“It's been an amazing journey, and such a privilege to share and help people by providing advice on all things money over the years. Changes in regulation and innovation in technology have seen the delivery of financial advice change with future opportunities just as exciting. We look forward to continuing to be at the forefront of these FinTech developments. This last year has been one of the most dynamic I’ve seen in the UK financial advice market, which is why our multi-award-winning online advice service SaidSo, launched in January, has been so well received.”
Simon Culhane, Chartered FCSI and CEO of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), added:
“Many congratulations to Keith for achieving this significant professional milestone. Keith is already a key member of our Southern branch committee and actively promotes the importance of professional financial planning, as a career choice and a key, consumer benefit.”
As well as his day job, Keith has written many books and regularly shares his financial expertise on BBC radio.
